DOS Command and their effect.


Check Your pc version :- Do you know the version of MS-Dos on which your are working from long.the easiest way to find out about MS-DOS is to ask MS-DOS itself.

Steps:-
1. Type command on the run option of your window(run->Command).
2.you will get command interface like this c:\>type Ver there then press Enter( c:\>ver-> press Enter).

after pressing enter it will give you the information about your MS-Dos version. now you know the version of your MS-DOS, good attempts....

Check or Changing the System date :-

For checking the system date you need to follow these steps:-

1. Type command on the run option of your window(run->Command).
2.you will get command interface like this c:\>type date on dos prompt then press Enter( c:\>date->press Enter).

you will get interface like this:-

Current date is Mon 02-21-2006
Enter new date (mm-dd-yy): _

now you will get the prompt for entering new date. you can put in format month-day-year and press enter.

Note:-
You can also use a slash(/) or a period to separate the numbers. Whichever you use, if you don't do it exactly right (in other words, in a way that MS-DOS recognizes), MS-DOS displays Invalid date and prompts you to try again. If you make a mistake or enter the wrong date, don't be alarmed. As you'll soon see, it's easy to fix such errors.



Check and changing the time :-

For checking the system time you need to go through with some steps. :-

1. Type command on the run option of your window(run->Command). 2. you will get command interface like this c:\>type time

you will get interface like:-
The current time is: 20:41:47.03 Enter the new time:

For specifying new time you can put time according to used time format otherwise you can simply press enter to exit from this section. <\tr>
